Trio Amerise Curriculum Vitae
The woodwind trio consists of Ragnhildur Josefsdottir on the flute, Morten Sønderskov Jensen on the clarinet and Lucia Amerise on the bassoon. They all met during their studies at The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copen-hagen, and in 2011 they started the woodwind trio, Trio Amerise. In 2013 the Trio got accepted into The Advanced Postgraduate Programme for Ensembles at the RDAM, as the first wind-ensemble. They will have their debut-concert from the Royal Academy of Music in the season 2016/17.
They have performed on several occasions in the greater Copenhagen area, including Copenhagen Cathedral, Chris-tian’s Church, the Ministry of Culture, Danish Industry, Tivoli, and various other chambermusic venues in Copenha-gen. In the spring of 2012 the Trio signed a contract with Tivoli, performing at little “Sunday relaxation concerts” on “Plænen” in Tivoli every Sunday from April 15th 2012 to September 9th 2012.
Trio Amerise has also played several concerts in Sweden, Iceland and Germany. They were among 16 ensembles invited to participate in the Danish Radio P2 Chambermusic Competition 2014, and later the same year they got awarded 2. prize in the internal chambermu-sic competition at RDAM.
The members of the Trio are from three nordic countries; Iceland, Denmark and Sweden. The name Amerise, how-ever, is taken from Lucia’s Argentinean roots. The future vision is to have music from all three Nordic countries as well as from Argentina, mixed into an already very broad repertoire of classical pieces.
Trio Amerise has therefore already started working with different nordic composers, making new nordic music written for the Trio – the first piece is already finished, a piece by the Icelandic composer Hafdís Bjarnadóttir, written and premiered in 2014.
Beside this, Trio Amerise likes to challenge the normal classical concert concepts. They play a large part of their repertoire by memory, and they also experiment with movement, scenography and different formations on stage.
In addition to their studies with RDAM’s Woodwind Professor Max Artved at the Advanced Postgraduate Pro-gramme, Trio Amerise has furthermore received coaching from the clarinettists Andreas Sundén, Larry Combs, John Kruse and Charles Neidich, the bassoon player Audun Halvorsen and the flautists Anna Dina Schick, Henrik Wiese and Toke Lund Christiansen.
